Margot Pemberton

Secretary & Chair, Standards Committee
Margot Pemberton
An Officer Profile · The Society

Margot Pemberton chairs the Standards Committee and serves as Society Secretary. She maintains the Vehicle Registry, the Approved Establishments List, and the Quarterly Boundary Review. Members who disagree with a boundary usually bring a map; Margot brings her own.

Professionally: Margot works in Illinois and Michigan real estate through Pemberton & Crow Provenance Group. Her clients include Members looking for a single-family home in Lincoln Park or a place in Harbor Country. She prefers to see the floor plan before hearing how much they love the kitchen.

Her rental business, Crow & Dune, grew out of finding summer houses for clients. Its twenty-one properties are spread across New Buffalo, Union Pier, Lakeside, Harbert, Sawyer, Grand Beach, and Michiana. She is considering Lake Geneva and Naples next, although the Chicago office would like her to finish the current bookings first.

At home on Mohawk Street, Margot is planning a multi-tier rear deck with Punch Concepts. The drawings include a "fixed cocktail station, alternative format." Phillip has used the words "beer bong bar." Margot says they are still discussing the planting.

Her first choice is a Japanese maple. She has selected the cultivar but is waiting to announce it until she knows she can get one.

A Smith graduate, Margot lives with her husband Phillip and drives a Porsche Cayenne in Crayon. She is a regular at the farmers market and has been known to double-park, a habit several Members have suggested adding to the next Standards agenda.
