An Officer Profile · The Society

Ashley Munroe is President and Executive Director of the Lincoln Park Trixie Society. She began its Membership Committee with three friends, a printer, and forty-seven names in a Lincoln Park apartment. Members generally call her Dr. Ash.

Ashley grew up on her family's farm in Griswold, Iowa. When she arrived in Lincoln Park, having an apartment of her own mattered a great deal. She still asks new Members where they are living and remembers which studios had room for a proper table.

Her work brings together the Society's officers, membership, and Foundation. Jill handles the editorial calendar, Erin reviews applications, and Margot has opinions about nearly everything else. Ashley chairs their meetings and tries to leave enough time for dinner. The Alehouse is often suggested before the agenda is finished.

She holds a Bachelor of Technology from the University of Iowa, a degree in Non-Profit Development from DePaul, and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from Wharton. Her work outside the Society has included advisory roles with the Obama Foundation and the Chicago 2016 Olympic Bid Committee. She takes considerable pride in a well-executed parallel park and has kept the same East Bank Club locker for years. The apartment and its printer appear regularly in her account of the Society's beginnings; the interim administration receives rather less attention.

Ashley lives on Cleveland Avenue and drives a navy BMW i7 with an Ivory White interior. The Illinois plate reads LPTPHD. She chose it after completing her doctorate and sees no reason to change it.
