Clark Street beginning at Belden is a major hot-spot for the Trixie in Training to live and shop, because some of the least expensive apartments in the Village are found here, especially when you need to cram three girls into a 1 or 2 bedroom. However, many T.I.T.’s are being forced out by more mature Trixies and their Husbands buying more expensive condos (a process termed “trixification” by urban demographers and sociologists).
Let’s start exploring at Belden, where we find Tower Records. Tower has always been there, but the neighborhood ladies don’t really care for it since it is always crowded with record shoppers. Go north, and you find Urban Outfitters, where the T.I.T.’s decorate their homes on extreme budgets. Go north at Fullerton on Clark, and you enter what used to be the hottest part of Lincoln Park, but which has seen it’s turn around in shops lately. Where a lady used to be able to shop all day and then hang out at a sidewalk cafe with her friend John, now she must walk by “For Rent” signs.
Trixification often strikes with little warning.
