A new barista at the Armitage Starbucks asked me to repeat my order. She was very sweet about it, but by the time I got to the ice I could see why she hadn't caught everything. I counted seventeen specifications. I had been thinking of it as a fairly simple coffee.
I asked Brian to check the Atlas. The village average is nine, apparently, so I have been trying to simplify mine without changing the drink.
Ristretto stays. I also changed extra-extra-light ice to no ice, although I still order it iced. It has to start cold. That seems perfectly clear to me, but I do explain it if anyone asks.
This morning I was down to eleven. The barista said, ‘That's it?’ and I said yes. It was ready a little sooner and tasted just as good.
I could probably get to nine. I don't think I want to go below the village average, though. People might think something had happened.
