The Lincoln Park Trixie Society's Annual Spring Champagne Brunch was held on Saturday, April 15 at the Lakeshore Athletic Club, Fullerton Avenue. Attendance was 247 members and guests, the highest in the Society's history at that date.
"The Brunch is the Society's central ritual," said Executive Director Ashley Munroe, presiding. "It is the annual proof that we exist, that we are organized, and that we dress appropriately."
Highlights of the 2006 Brunch included: the presentation of the Outstanding Trixie Award to Caroline Vance-Whittaker for her work on the Approved Establishments Directory; a brief remarks from Alderman Vi Daley; and the ceremonial uncorking of the Society's reserve case of 2001 Billecart-Salmon, donated by an anonymous member who the Board quietly acknowledges was Ashley Munroe.
The 2007 Brunch date will be announced in the fall TrixieUpdate.
