Society Investigates Hacker Incident

LINCOLN PARK – May 8

– The Lincoln Park Trixie Society (LPTS) announced today that preliminary investigations have revealed that no sensitive information systems were breached during yesterday’s disturbing hacking incident.

For a brief 14-hour period, the Society’s homepage was defaced with an anti-American slogan and profanity–apparently created by a notorious Chinese hacker group.

“At this point we are very confident that the hacker did not access any of the Society’s internal databases and therefore could not have obtained any sensitive personal information.” said LPTS Webmaster

Brian O’Halloran

. “Society members can rest assured that their membership applications and other private information and communications remain safe and secure.” “It is a shame that they would target us,” said

Ashley Munroe

, the Society’s Director of Communications. “We’re just a small, entrepreneurial non-profit organization with a membership base full of culturally savvy young men and women who certainly appreciate Chinese cuisine and apparel products.

Thousands of Trixies and TrixieMales can be seen each and every night at any one of the hundreds of Lincoln Park’s upscale sushi bars, and many Society members have even ventured down to Chinatown to sample some of their delightful Dim Sum delicacies. A number of our members have family in China, and none of this tells us who was responsible.”

The Society briefly discussed cancelling its annual Chopstick Training seminars before returning to the question of website security. The seminars remain required for all new Trixies-in-Training (T.I.T.’s). “Many Trixies don’t know how to use chopsticks and are deathly afraid of embarrassing themselves in front of their dates and co-workers,”observed

Jill Martin

, the Society’s Membership Director. “Our classes permit young T.I.T.’s to develop the acumen and dexterity required to impress other people, as well as the skills to handle even the messiest Shanghai peanut noodle dish. Without chopstick training, more and more trixies will go back to eating tapas, pasta, or even Irish pub fare.”
