Somebody's brand new white Mercedes GLE caught it on Dayton around two in the morning, courtesy of a Trixie In Training walking home from an evening that got away from her. Nobody has hosed it off. The car has been sitting there since Saturday with the drips baked on in the sun and the owner has not come outside once. The owner has yet to inspect it.
There is a man on Armitage with a GoPro strapped to the front of his hat. He had it on in the car Thursday and again walking the dog Friday, nobody has asked what he is filming and nobody is going to. Sunday he came around the corner too fast and nearly took out Amanda Wilson and three others coming out of the Armitage Alehouse after brunch. He apologized to the camera and not to Amanda.
Flapjacks are the thing this season, but only if they come off a Wolf dual-fuel range. Batter from scratch; the measuring cup came off the registry and has never been used for anything else, and the first one goes to the doodle; that is just how it works here. Nobody is running that range anywhere near what it does; a pancake needs about a third of one burner.
The Society is looking at a rule that every outdoor staircase in the village carry LED tread lighting, the kind that comes on by itself, so nobody takes the last two steps in the dark holding a Whole Foods bag and a Nordstrom box. The stairs in the picture already have it and got a commendation for being early. Public comment opens in the fall.
Freestanding tubs are everywhere in the village now. The faucet has to be gold and it has to come up out of the floor, which apparently is the whole point, the Society did not ask what the plumbing cost. A Member's newest bundle of joy had her bath on Tuesday night. The nanny does bath time, the Member was downstairs scrolling through the most recent Instagram recipes on her new iPhone.
