Photographed in the upper center, just behind her boyfriend — whose Sox cap remains a quiet, recurring disturbance in both their families — a Sheffield Corridor Trixie observes a fisticuff in the rows below between two spectators, the Trixie does not flinch; the Society has long held that crosstown attendance is, by definition, a contact sport. The boyfriend, for his part, watches from beneath the very cap that started the trouble at home. The Cubs lost 7–3. The relationship — sources confirm — did not.
A Trixie zooms down Damen following a quick jaunt to Costco for rotisserie chickens — three, observed in the back seat, against a stated need for one. Mid-block, she is understood to be weighing a Midtown Athletic Club membership: a gym and hotel of evident quality but, as yet, unsanctioned by the Society. The Standards Committee has opened no file. It is merely aware.
Jenna and Clark, photographed at the garden store assembling summer goods for the shared deck of their new condo. The glazed planter, the soil, and the telescoping wand suggest a couple settling in. The garden walls in the cart suggest otherwise: Jenna remains unconvinced that a deck should be shared, and has secured Clark's agreement to a wisteria screen. The Society notes that wisteria, properly trained, takes three to five years to deliver on a promise. Jenna is understood to consider this acceptable.
Spots, a non-traditional Lincoln Park pup, takes in a wonderfully sunny Saturday from a Member's balcony on Howe Street. The Society's canine register skews toward the golden retriever and the doodle in its several formats; Spots is neither. He holds the balustrade with the posture of a dog who has decided the view is his. No Member has contested the point.
Society Member Jenn tests a confidential roller across a legal pad page. The tool was obtained for a single purpose — blotting her name from mail before it reaches the garbage — and has, on the evidence, exceeded its brief. Jenn has long been exacting about her privacy. She is now making the rollers available to her friends, after demonstrating hers over coffee.
