The Week in Pictures

November 16, 2018

Lincoln Park has finally got it’s due. No, this isn’t a new boutique on Halsted and Armitage. Marshall Field’s State Street store has recently announced a new line of exciting furniture called ‘Simply Living, Lincoln Park’. The Lincoln Park Area Chamber of Commerce preferred to give the naming contract to Walter E. Smithe, Ethan Allen or Plunkett, but Marshall Fields was larger and won the contract. Society Member Jill Tomlinson recently provided this picture, taken when she and her Fiancé Mark Johnston were creating their wedding registry in the furniture department.

What a sight! Jen and her twelve bridesmaids garbed in the season’s best Chiffon emerged from their Excursion Stretch Limo at the Sheffield/Armitage Starbucks to catch a quick sip of gourmet coffee in between the chapel and the reception.

Nearly mauled, this woman was casually crossing Southport Avenue when a German Shepard (left) and Border Collie mix (right) charged her. A reminder to all Society members to use caution when using the Extend-A-Leash with a dog larger than 75 pounds.

After a vigorous jog, a village-area couple checks out the parking restrictions in their neighborhood for summer Cubs games.

Double-Parked in front of the Starbucks on Addison street, A Society Member’s Jetta was vandalized during last week’s Cubs game. The Society recommends keeping a close eye on one’s Jetta when parking in neighborhoods other than Lincoln Park.
