I asked Brian O'Halloran whether we needed a camera or two. The house has four stories, and I can't see the garden gate from the kitchen. Our neighbors have cameras, and the CAPS officer had mentioned them. I was thinking of a doorbell.
Brian came over Tuesday at six with a laser measurer. He walked around the house in both directions to check the sight lines, then asked what I was worried about. Mostly raccoons, and the Bears fan who once cut through the garden. I would prefer not to meet either at the back door.
He had brought a tabbed binder. I assumed he would fill it in while he was here, but he had already prepared an assessment. He said he had done it speculatively. Brian runs a practice out of the old Amoco Building, and apparently this is the sort of thing he thinks about.
His proposal is labeled Phase One. It calls for eleven cameras. When I asked about Phase Two, he closed the binder and said we should see how we felt.
I need to read it properly before deciding. He also noted that the garden gate sticks, which is useful. I might get that fixed first.
