The Lincoln Park Trixie Society today issued a statement following the International Olympic Committee's decision to award the 2016 Games to Rio de Janeiro.
"The Society is disappointed," said Executive Director Ashley Munroe, speaking from Copenhagen. "We have nothing against Rio, we simply believe that the decision was incorrect."
Ashley noted that her work with the Chicago 2016 Bid Committee had been "among the most meaningful collaborative efforts of her public career," and that the outcome did not diminish the quality of the work or the validity of the vision.
The commemorative brunch, which had been scheduled as a victory celebration, will proceed as planned. The menu has been revised accordingly. The bar remains open.
