"Dear Ashley, Is it possible to join the Society if I came from humble beginnings? My dad was a mechanic and my mother was a housekeeper, but I managed to go to Madison and now I work downtown for a PR firm as an Assistant Acct manager. I live in the village near Clark & Fullerton. Thanks for your help. Bridget"

Yes, Bridget. Your parents’ occupations needn’t enter into your application. You’ve made a home in the Village and found work you enjoy; those are perfectly good things to tell us about. I would mention the PR firm, since we always seem to have something that needs announcing.
You needn’t give us your parents’ occupations. ‘Daddy was in oil’ would cover it, although I would lead with the PR firm. You can still have a Hartman overnight case.
Good luck!
Ash
