TrixieInterVentures is a privately held Chicago investment firm. We invest partner capital in businesses, properties, and hospitality projects familiar to our partners and the Society. Proposals receive a close reading and, where possible, a visit.
The Firm works independently with founders and partners. Lenore chairs the Investment Committee, Marin runs the business, and the practice principals bring forward opportunities. Ashley represents the Society’s interests at the table.
"Deal terms are negotiated. Standards are not."— Founding statement, TrixieInterVentures —
Growth capital and equity for lifestyle, beauty, fitness, and consumer businesses led by people we know. Hollis reviews the business as well as the product; Members often arrive with experience of the latter.
Residential, mixed-use, and retail property from Halsted to Racine and North to Fullerton, including the DePaul corridor. Maitland reviews acquisitions and selective development, usually with the floor plans open.
Capital for restaurants, hotels, and venues, from a fit-out to an operating investment. Ainsley considers the service, the numbers, and whether guests would choose to return.
The Firm's evergreen vehicle. Domiciled in Delaware, administered from Chicago. Open to qualifying partners and selected institutional investors. Distributions are quarterly. Reporting is plain.

Founded TrixieInterVentures in 2018 after senior operating roles in Chicago consumer businesses and board work in hospitality, property, and women’s health. Chairs the Investment Committee. Lenore prefers to hear the difficult part of a proposal before the presentation reaches its appendix.

The Firm’s Synthetic Advisory applies five models drawn from the published work of named investors and operators. Principals use the relevant models to question an allocation before taking it to the Investment Committee. The people around the table still have to decide.
Built on five decades of Berkshire Hathaway shareholder letters, public testimony, and biographical record. Applied to every Trust allocation, every Member Brands acquisition, and every question of compounding versus exit.
Draws on Poor Charlie’s Almanack, the Daily Journal and Wesco addresses, and the Caltech speeches. Used to ask what could go wrong with a proposal before the Committee grows too attached to it.
Built on the Oaktree memos, The Most Important Thing, and Mastering the Market Cycle. Applied to questions of timing, of contrarianism, and of where the Firm sits in the cycle.
Built on Setting the Table, the Union Square Hospitality investor letters, and a generation of speeches on hospitality as a discipline. Applied to every restaurant, every hotel, and every operating-capital conversation in the Hospitality practice.
Built on three decades of merchandising interviews, the Gap and J. Crew turnaround records, and the public board archive. Applied to brand resets, product instinct, and the "always something new" question.
The District at Lincoln Park — the Firm’s riverfront development initiative.
The Data Center Initiative — the Society’s regional infrastructure program and twelve-location Perimeter.
