Someone sent me a photograph of the WGN news team reunited in a beer garden. Anchors, reporters, producers and meteorologists, several rows of them, under string lights. I spent quite a while looking at it.
It is funny how familiar people become when they have been in your kitchen every morning without ever visiting. I recognized faces before I could remember all the names. Jonathan was more helpful with the weather people.
Everyone looked well. Even in a beer garden they had managed to arrange themselves so you could see each face, and several had white wine. I would have liked to know who organized it.
I hope they had a lovely evening. They have talked us through plenty of snowstorms, and it was nice to see them outside together without anyone having to stand beside a ruler in the snow.
