The Lincoln Park Trixie Society issued a formal statement welcoming construction progress on the Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park on Chicago's South Side.
"The Society is proud to have had one of its own at the table," said Executive Director Ashley Munroe, who has served in an advisory capacity with the Obama Foundation on community engagement initiatives. "The Presidential Center is a generational asset for Chicago, and it is being built with extraordinary care."
The Society noted that Valerie Jarrett, former Senior Advisor to President Obama and one of Chicago's most consequential civic figures, has been central to the Center's development. "The Society has long admired Ms. Jarrett's judgment, her composure, and her wardrobe," said Munroe.
The Society plans to organize a member visit to the Presidential Center upon its opening.
