— The Lincoln Park Trixie Society announces the formation of a new policy affecting the use of the Trixie Forums feature of the LPTS website. Introduced with version 3.0 of the LPTS website, the Forums have been a highly successful vehicle in facilitating inter-Trixie communications, as well as advancing the Trixie Lifestyle to visitors both locally and worldwide. Although the forums have been generally well-accepted by those outside the Society, a few anonymous posters have chosen to dirty our otherwise pristine website with rantings, ravings and miscellaneous garbage. The
new policy
details guidelines around Content Filtering and Off-Topic postings.
In order to monitor content on the Forums, the Board has approved hiring an office intern. Catherine Monaghan, a senior at one of Lincoln Park’s finer universities, has been selected as the Trixie Forums Content Manager. Miss Monaghan, who will graduate next year with a degree in Communications and Public Relations with a minor in Social Science, rejected a prestigious internship at a major downtown PR firm to accept this position. According to Miss Monaghan, this position will offer her the opportunity to enhance her integrated marketing communications skillset and provide incredible value to the Society by removing disruptive posts. “We believe Miss Monaghan’s talents will serve her well as she acts as the guardian of our forums…our virtual Lincoln Park!” added Ashley Munroe, the Society’s Director of Communications.
“Most Society members still conduct private and privileged communications on a one-to-one basis using text messaging, wireless PDA’s and word of mouth. But the public Trixie Forums are a key component of our campaign to enhance the free flow of information so vital to the health of our community,” commented Miss Burke.
