LINCOLN PARK, CHICAGO — The Lincoln Park Trixie Society announced today the formation of the Annexation Initiative, under which the Society will extend official district status to five adjoining territories: West Loop, West Town, Wicker Park, Bucktown, and Logan Square.
Members already visit these neighborhoods for dinner, shopping, and coffee, and several have moved there without surrendering their Society memberships. The Committee considers this sufficient grounds to begin drawing a larger map.
Under the Initiative, each territory will be designated an Official District of the Society, with local customs retained where charming. Residents of the districts will not be required to do anything, which the Society notes is also true of Members.
A formal Proclamation is being drafted by the Office of the Committee. Listening Sessions will be scheduled in each territory. The Committee has not yet settled whether residents may suggest changes to the boundaries.
