TrixieUpdate

Welcome to TrixieUpdate for Friday, July 6, 2001!

Trixie NewsBytes:

* The Trixie Pub of the Month is: Glascotts, a Traditional Irish Pub right smack in the center of the Halsted Street Strip, and very popular among TrixieMales. Link to their website from our home page, and tell your bartender you saw them on the LPTS homepage!

* Today the Society today issues a strong recommondation for all Trixies and TrixieMales to stop buying or using their cherished Jeep Grand Cherokees. This warning is based on yesterday’s news about the vehicle randomly jumping in reverse and taking off. On a related note, Member Jenna Thompson notified the board of a similar incident with her boyfriend’s 1999 Cherokee Limited, which, while parked in the Crate & Barrel Parking lot, eerily shifted into reverse and rolled backwards badly denting another Society member’s 2000 Jetta VR6.

* Results from last week’s TrixiePoll were overwhelming! “Is President Bush’s $1.7 trillion tax cut a good idea?” 197 members voted YES, because we can go and buy new Kate Spade bags with the extra cash. 91 members indicated that the President should use the extra cash to subsidize gas prices.

* This week’s TrixiePoll asks a question of importance to Wrigley TrixieMale Rooftoppers: “Do you like the proposed redesign of Wrigley Field?”. Vote today!

TRIXIE POLICE BLOTTER

Many members live under false hopes that our beloved Village is free from crime and grunge. But beware! Just below your toes, some of the most devious and horrific crimes are taking place and many Society members are finding themselves being taken advantage of. Read about crime or report criminal activity in the Society’s new Police Blotter column.

THE WEEK IN PICTURES

As the heat of the summer floods the Village, take a minute to share the joy through this week’s pictures.

ASHLEY RESPONDS

Did you know that Ashley Burke, the Society’s Director of Communications, responds to members comments almost every day? Many Society members rely on the “Ask Ashley” column not only to ask important questions, but also to learn how to live the Trixie lifestyle from others’ inquiries!

VILLAGE EVENTS

The Society’s Village Events section has been a hit among Society members and guests alike. As this summer’s flood of Trixie activities rushes forward like a title wave, keep yourself up-to-date on what’s hot and where to be seen through the Village Events section!
